Terms of a Service

Effective Date: May 27, 2026

Welcome to Olive Tree Talking Therapy. This website (https://olivetreetalkingtherapy.co.uk/) is owned and operated by Olive Tree Talking Therapy (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing our website, booking an appointment, or utilising our therapeutic, counselling, ecotherapy, or rehabilitation services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our website or services.

1. Scope of Services

Olive Tree Talking Therapy provides professional counselling and therapeutic support, including:

  • Individual face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling.

  • Couples and family support (including mediation, divorce/separation support, and conflict resolution).

  • Crisis services for young people and teenagers (including holistic substance abuse and addiction recovery programmes).

  • Ecotherapy (nature-based therapy, including “Walking & Talking” services).

All therapeutic relationships are built upon a collaborative path to healing, rooted in Person-Centred Therapy frameworks. Our counsellors are registered with reputable professional bodies—such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)—and strictly adhere to their respective ethical frameworks.

2. Crisis and Emergency Disclaimer

Olive Tree Talking Therapy is not an emergency crisis intervention service, nor are we a 24/7 psychiatric unit.

  • No Immediate Emergency Support: While we offer specialised support for teenagers in crisis, substance abuse, and deep emotional distress, our website communication channels, contact forms, and telephone lines are not monitored 24 hours a day.

  • In an Emergency: If you, your child, or a loved one is in immediate physical danger, experiencing severe acute psychiatric distress, or expressing active suicidal intent, you must contact emergency services immediately (dial 999 or 111 in the UK), attend your nearest NHS Accident & Emergency (A&E) department, or contact a dedicated helpline such as the Samaritans (call 116 123).

3.Bookings, Consultations, and Fees

A. Initial Consultation We offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone consultation. This is intended to evaluate your needs, answer operational questions, and determine whether our therapeutic approach is suitable for your specific circumstances.

B. Fee Structure By scheduling a session, you agree to pay the fees applicable to your chosen package. Our current standard fee structure is as follows:

  • Individual Counselling (1-hour session): £65

  • Individual Counselling (6-session block): £345 (payable in advance)

  • Couples/Family Counselling (1-hour session): £85

  • Online/Telephone Counselling (1-hour session): £55

  • Online/Telephone (6-session block): £285 (payable in advance)

C. Financial Hardship and Discounted Sessions We recognise that living expenses can be burdensome. If you are experiencing genuine financial hardship, you may qualify for discounted sessions. Please discuss your circumstances openly with your assigned counsellor during your initial consultation, and we will endeavour to find an accommodating arrangement where possible.

4.Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

To maintain a stable and committed therapeutic environment, we enforce a strict cancellation policy:

  • Notice Required: You must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.

  • Late Cancellations and No-Shows: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or failure to attend a scheduled session without notice, will incur the full fee for that session.

  • Block Bookings: Missed sessions or late cancellations within a pre-paid 6-session block will be deducted from your remaining balance as though they were attended.

5. Specific Service Terms

A. Ecotherapy and “Walking & Talking”

Outdoor and home visits are subject to specific terms and conditions. Ecotherapy sessions may take place in countryside or urban settings (e.g., parks, gardens, farms, or woodlands) and involve varying degrees of physical activity.

  • Clients participating in outdoor therapy acknowledge that nature presents environmental variables (such as weather changes, public presence, and uneven terrain).

  • Sessions will proceed in light inclement weather unless deemed unsafe by the therapist, in which case the session will be moved online, held via telephone, or rescheduled at no additional charge.

B. Services for Young People and Teenagers

For minors or teenagers engaging in our addiction rehabilitation or mental health programmes, legal parental or guardian consent must be obtained prior to the commencement of therapy. While we involve the family dynamically, the core therapeutic relationship with the teenager retains an ethical boundary of confidentiality, subject to safeguarding exceptions detailed in our Privacy Policy.

6. Code of Conduct and Safety

We are committed to providing a safe, restorative, and supportive environment. We operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding violence, aggressive behaviour, verbal abuse, or harassment directed towards our therapists, staff, or other clients. We reserve the right to terminate a session immediately and refuse future services to anyone violating this code of conduct; no refund will be issued for the disrupted session.

Furthermore, clients must not attend any counselling session (whether face-to-face or digital) whilst under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed substances.

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Olive Tree Talking Therapy, its therapists, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, our website or services.
