English was not my first language, and during previous counselling sessions, I often felt confused about how therapists and interpreters worked together. It sometimes felt like a three-way conversation going in endless circles.
However, during my first session with Olive Tree, I felt an immense sense of relief. I was speaking with a female therapist who not only spoke my mother language but also understood my religious and cultural beliefs. It was like a mountain was lifted off my shoulders.
Over the coming weeks and months, I felt transported back to Punjab, walking through my Grandad’s wheat fields, free from worries, with the smell of rich soil, the warmth of the sun, and the soft touch of harvested grain all around me. It’s truly remarkable how this beautiful experience has been brought to life right here in the heart of Yorkshire.

Going through a tough divorce can be really challenging, and that’s why we decided to reach out to Olive Tree couples counselling for help. At first, my ex-partner and I were a bit unsure about the whole process, but the therapist’s warm and patient approach made it so much easier for us to open up and share what we were really feeling. We truly appreciated all the support during this tough time! In the end, we realised that parting ways was the best decision for both of us and, more importantly, for our kids. Now we can really focus on giving our kids a happy and fulfilling life. We’re so grateful for the personal growth we’ve experienced along the way!

My son was having difficulty with alcohol. His counsellor worked at my son’s pace. After an in-depth intervention, my son was able to learn about his addiction and patterns of behaviour which affected his repeated relapses. We were concerned every time he relapsed, but his counsellor assured him to continue with his therapy and keep attending regular sessions. It’s now 2 years and 4 months since my son has been relapse-free. It feels like reuniting with a lost child who has been absent from their family’s lives. Peace and blessings be with you, Olive Tree.

My daughter was experiencing difficulties at her grammar school. She was being bullied. At home, she became very withdrawn from her siblings, parents and friends. This left us feeling confused and, at times, desperate about her behaviour.
The female therapist at Olive Tree played a crucial role in building my daughter’s confidence and helping her make progress. Now that she is preparing for her GCSEs, and, most importantly, she can openly discuss everything with her family.
